The age limit for classic cars has been reduced to 30 years!
From April 1, a very important new law came into effect for car importers, and especially for retro car enthusiasts. If until now, importing a dream classic car and clearing it at a special tariff was only possible for very old models, now this rule has changed and opens up completely new opportunities for Georgian car enthusiasts.

What has changed in the legislation?
Under the previous regulations, a car was only considered "classic" if it was more than 40 years old .
As of April 1, this age limit has been reduced to 30 years .
This means that any vehicle that meets the other basic criteria for a classic car now officially enjoys classic car status.
What does this mean financially?
Clearing customs for a regular, old car in Georgia is usually quite expensive, depending on its age. However, a special, significantly preferential customs tariff applies to classic models. Lowering the age limit to 30 automatically means that you can now clear customs for a much larger number of models at minimal cost.
A new era for car enthusiasts
The change of the s is a unique opportunity for those who wanted to buy legendary models of the late 80s and early 90s. Now it is much easier and cheaper to bring such iconic models as the classic Ford Mustang , BMW E30/E36 , Mercedes-Benz W124/W140 and legendary Japanese models of the early 90s.
